Ember: The Digital Scrapbook app by developers of popular to-do app Clear arrives in the App Store

RealMac, the developers of Clear, the popular to-do app have just released a new iOS app called Ember, a digital scrapbook.

While apps like iPhoto help you to store your photo memories, Ember wants to be your go-to app for visual collection of anything and everything else. It allows you to collect images, webpages, and screenshots.

RealMac had launched Ember for Mac back in July. Ember for iOS currently allows you to view and manage your Ember library, the editing features are not available yet. So it is companion app, and doesn’t offer the features available in the Mac app.

Here are some of the features of Ember for iOS:

Organise your ideas and design inspiration – Take and save photos directly to your Ember library, or import images from your Camera Roll. Organise your Collections, apply tags to images, and build Smart Collections based on the tags and other metadata in your library.

Sharing is built right in – Share your snaps with your friends and co-workers via Mail, AirDrop, Messages, Twitter and Facebook.

Auto-detect iPhone and iPad screenshots – Ember automatically sorts screenshots imported from your Camera Roll into “Phone” and “Tablet” Collections for you. We’ll be adding Auto-Import for screenshots in a forthcoming update too!

iCloud – Ember for iOS ties into the iCloud support in Ember for Mac, allowing you to use one Ember library across all your Mac and iOS devices.

Smart Collections & Colour – Just like on the Mac, Ember for iOS analyses the images in your library, allowing you to use natural language to find images in your library. For example, search for “Dark Blue” or “Light Green”.

Ember for iOS is a free app, but Realmac plans to offer the Annotations feature as an in-app purchase in the future.

You can download Ember from the App Store using this direct iTunes link. Ember for Mac is available in the Mac App Store for $49.99, and you can download it from this link.
