Reuters reports that a South Korean court has dismissed Samsung’s lawsuit claiming Apple had infringed on three of its patents.

The lawsuit was part of the tech giants’ global courtroom battle dating back to 2011, when Apple first sued Samsung for copying the look and feel of its iconic iPhone and iPad.
A judge at the Seoul Central District Court said Apple products such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPad2 did not violate Samsung patents on short message display methods and messaging grouping features.
The court ruled against a sale ban on the products and threw out Samsung’s claim for 100 million won ($95,100) in damages.
Last year, the same court had ruled that Apple and Samsung infringed each other’s patents and had banned some products of both companies. The judges found that Apple violated Samsung’s two wireless communication technology related patents and Samsung had violated Apple’s patent for bounce-back technology — when a user scrolls beyond the edge of a photo, Web page or document, it bounces back into place.
If the verdict had gone in Samsung’s favor then it would have resulted in the sales ban of Apple’s older iPhone and iPad in South Korea.
