Analyst: Apple will start selling 65-inch and 55-inch Television sets with frameless design in Q4 2014

According to Masahiko Ishino, a Tokyo-based analyst at Advanced Research, Apple will probably start selling ultra-high definition televisions with 65 and 55-inch screens during the fourth quarter of next year.

Ishino claims that according to his sources, Apple’s television sets will have a frameless design.

Ishino also expects Apple to give Taiwan’s Foxconn to assemble the television sets. Foxconn has long been Apple’s biggest and most important manufacturing partner.

Ever since Steve Jobs told his biographer that he had finally cracked integrated Television sets, the chatter about Apple possibly releasing its own branded television sets has got louder.

There have been rumors and speculations that Apple will launch an iOS based television set with Siri for extensive voice control rather than the conventional remote control.

Tim Cook has maintained that Television is an “intense area of interest.” At D11 conference in August he said that the company had a grand vision for Television.

It remains to be seen if Apple will be able or allowed to disrupt the TV industry like it has done to the music and telecom industries. I certainly hope so.
