Upcoming Jailbreak Tweak aims to bring desktop-level multitasking to the iPad

Despite the absence of an iOS 7 jailbreak for new devices, there continues to be plenty of activity in the jailbreak tweaks development community, partly thanks to an iOS 7 jailbreak available for the iPhone 4. Today, we’ve learnt of a new tweak under-development that tries to bring desktop-level multitasking to the iPad.

The developer, who goes by eswick on reddit, posted a teaser image of the tweak showing an OS X-like multitasking interface, with apps open as different windows, a concept of multiple “desktops,” and the ability to make each app full screen.

This tweak seems very promising, and although the developer isn’t revealing much about it, he/she says it will be available in early-2014 and will be compatible with both iOS 6 and iOS 7.

A number of folks have complained about the limited utility of an iPad if your work depends on switching between apps frequently, and such a solution will be perfect for such power users.

If you’re wondering what’s the status on the iOS 7 jailbreak then there haven’t been any updates from the evad3rs team worth reporting since our last status update. But these jailbreak tweak teasers should make the wait worthwhile.
