Untethered iOS 6.1.3 – iOS 6.1.5 Jailbreak Demoed [Video]

If you have been eagerly waiting for the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 – iOS 6.1.5 then we have some news for you.

iH8sn0w and winocm have tweeted a video that shows an untethered jailbroken iPod touch 5G running iOS 6.1.3.

In the video, they show Cydia running on iPod touch 5G, and use jailbreak tweak SBSettings to change the brightness and Prompt – an SSH client to connect as root. They also restart the jailbroken iPod touch to show that the jailbreak is untethered.

iH8sn0w, developer of popular jailbreak tools like Sn0wbreeze has also clarified that the untethered jailbreak works on iOS 6.1.3 – 6.1.5, and should work on all compatible devices except for Apple TV 3.

Previously, iH8sn0w had said that they had lowered the priority of untethered jailbreak for A5+ devices, as the vulnerabilities that they planned to use in the jailbreak are still working in iOS 7, so they’ve decided to preserve them as they could be useful to develop the iOS 7 jailbreak rather than exposing them by releasing the untethered jailbreak for A5+ devices. Currently, it is possible to tether jailbreak only iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G on iOS 6.1.3.

They haven’t given an ETA for the release of the jailbreak. They have previously said that the ETA is “before 2014,” But with just over a week to go for 2014, it is not clear if they’ll release the untethered iOS 6.1.3 – 6.1.5 jailbreak before iOS 7 jailbreak is released.
