Quasar-like iOS 7 Jailbreak Tweak will allow you to use Apps in Multitasking app switcher

While we patiently wait for the iOS 7 jailbreak, Cydia developers continue to tease us with jailbreak apps for iOS 7.

Few days back, Ryan Petrich, developer of popular jailbreak tweaks such as Activator, has given us a glimpse of what his popular video multitasking jailbreak app VideoPane will look like in iOS 7.

Over the weekend, a Cydia developer published a video of a jailbreak tweak called Background Manager, that allows you to use apps in the app switcher.

iOS 7 comes with the an all-new card-based multitasking interface, which displays the preview of the apps running in the background. As you can see in the video below, the developer makes use of this new card-based interface to allow users to use the apps in app switcher mode.

The could be very useful, as you won’t need to switch to an app such as the Phone app to make a call or the Settings app to change a setting or use the Camera app to take a photo. You could simply swipe to the app in the app switcher, use the app, and slide back to the app you’re currently using. It can be even more useful if you want to use multiple apps in the app switcher at once.

It’s almost like Quasar, the jailbreak app that allowed you to run multiple apps at once. It may not be ideal on the iPhone as the UI elements would be quite small in the app switcher, but would be perfect on the iPad.

The developer has demoed the jailbreak app on a jailbroken iPhone 4. As you probably know, pre-A5 devices such as iPhone 4 have a bootrom exploit that can be used to jailbreak it using tools such as opensn0w or Ragebreak. You can check out this post in our Forums to find out more details on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 7.

If you’re wondering what’s the status on the iOS 7 jailbreak then there haven’t been any updates from the evad3rs team worth reporting since our last status update. But jailbreak tweaks like this one should make the wait worthwhile.

If and when a jailbreak is released, we’ll let you as soon as there are any further updates, so stay tuned here at iPhone Hacks or join our Facebook Fan pagefollow us on Twitteradd us to your circles on Google+ or subscribe to our RSS feed.
