Apple just released iOS 7.0.4 earlier today with a fix for an issue with FaceTime calls, and other improvements and bug fixes. Musclenerd, member of the evad3rs team who’re working on an iOS 7 jailbreak, has now, in a somewhat cryptic fashion, said that the update is safe for those of you who plan to jailbreak your devices, if you’re on iOS 7 already.
He added that users who’re on jailbroken on iOS 6 should still avoid iOS 7.0.4, since there’s no way to go go back.
Here are Musclenerd’s tweets:
Those at 7.x waiting for JB, maybe treat 7.0.4 as exercise in restraint. Won’t affect JB if you slip up, but test your ability to avoid it!

…but for those enjoying the 6.x JB, avoid 7.0.4 . There’s no going back (always worth saying that for sake of JB newbies)

The evad3rs team appears to have all the pieces for an iOS 7 jailbreak, but they don’t quite have a release date or timeline yet. Since iOS 7.0.4 is a minor release, it is unlikely to fix any major holes that could be used in a future jailbreak, and is hence deemed safe to upgrade to, if you’re already on iOS 7.
