We’ve been hearing that iPad 5 will feature an iPad mini like design with the thinner bezels at the side in portrait mode, 33% thinner and 25% lighter than the current generation iPad.
The alleged photo of the iPad 5 rear shell that leaked earlier in the week, seemed to confirm those rumors.
We now have a video courtesy folks at Japanese blog Macotakara (via Sonny Dickson), which shows a partially assembled iPad 5 with the rear shell and front panel.
Just like the photo, the video reveals the bezels will be a lot thinner at the side in portrait mode, and appears to be thinner than the current generation iPad.
The only difference between the rear shell shown in the photo and the video is the Apple logo. The logo appears to be translucent (which is quite odd), where as in the photo it appeared to be mirrored/silver like the iPad mini.
Macotakara has published another video, which shows Apple’s partially assembled plastic iPhone, dubbed iPhone 5C, with the white plastic rear shell and black front panel.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the 5th generation iPad in the September to November timeframe, and the budget iPhone alongside iPhone 5S in September.
