Boost Mobile, the prepaid subsidiary of Sprint will start selling Apple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c today, at a compelling discount of $200 on the unsubsidized price of the two phones.
As we have noted before, this is the first time that Boost Mobile will be offering Apple’s iPhone.
The Apple online store has Boost Mobile iPhones listed at $100 less than the usual unsubsidised price, but buyers can avail an additional $100 discount if they switch from another carrier and buy the device from a Boost retail store. From 9to5Mac:
Now through Nov. 24 new customers who come into a participating Boost Mobile store and switch to Boost Mobile from another carrier will be eligible for a special in-store promotion of $100 off any device bringing new customers additional cost savings.
So the iPhone 5c will start at $349 for the base 16GB model, and the iPhone 5s will start at $449 for the 16GB variant. The devices will be available with prepaid plans for $55 per month, which includes unlimited calling, text and data. Boost Mobile will start throttling data after a monthly soft cap of 2.5GB. The carrier also offers a “Shrinking Payments” option, which allows customers to save $5 on monthly payment for every 6 on-time payments.
