Rumor: Apple to launch new MacBook Pros in late October, Mac Pro on November 15

According to French site MacG, Apple will launch new MacBook Pros on October 24th or 25th, the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 on October 30th or October 31st.

The report also claims that Apple may launch Mac Pro, which was unveiled during the WWDC 2013 Keynote in June, on November 15th.

MacG has a good track record, however we’re a little skeptical about the possibility of Apple launching the new iPads on a Wednesday or a Thursday, as it prefers to launch new iOS devices on a Friday. So we expect Apple to launch iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 on November 1st instead.

According to rumors, iPad 5 will sport an iPad mini-like design with narrower bezels in portrait mode, and could come with a variant of the A7 chip with 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and possibly the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. It is also expected to be lighter and thinner than the current generation iPad.

iPad mini 2 may come with Retina Display, and could include a A7 chip with 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and possibility the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. It could be slightly thicker than the current generation iPad mini to accommodate the Retina Display.

Apple is also likely to update the MacBook Pros with the latest Haswell processors, which should also significantly improve battery life like we’ve seen with the refreshed MacBook Airs earlier this year.

So if you’re planning to buy a new iPad or MacBook Pro, you may want to wait until next week to buy the latest and greatest model.
